What the Digital Product Passport is
A digital record of a product: its declaration of performance and conformity, instructions and safety information, and data about its environmental impact. Buyers, installers and authorities open it through a data carrier on the product, its packaging or its accompanying documents.
Why the code matters
Printed labels, stamped parts and packaging stay in circulation for years. If the code points directly at a web page, it breaks as soon as that page moves. A managed short link stays the same and can be pointed to wherever the information lives today.
What you can prepare now
- Decide which products and variants need their own code.
- Put stable short links on new print runs.
- Collect declarations of performance and instructions in one place.
